FAQs
-
Do I need to be United Methodist?
No. While College Park United Methodist Church is part of the United Methodist denomination, many members of our staff come from a variety of Christian traditions and backgrounds. What matters most is that you are comfortable supporting the mission and ministry of College Park United and helping us create a loving space where all belong.
Can I apply if I’m new to church work?
Yes. Some roles require specific ministry or professional experience, but others translate well from nonprofit, education, arts, hospitality, and other people-centered fields. If you’re passionate about serving others and believe your skills could support the work of the church, we encourage you to apply.
What’s the expected work schedule for Sundays and Wednesdays?
Because worship and ministry happen throughout the week, many church roles include some evening or weekend hours. At College Park, this most often means participation in Sunday morning worship and occasionally Wednesday evening activities or special events. The specific schedule varies by role and will always be discussed clearly during the hiring process.
Can I volunteer if there aren’t openings?
Absolutely. Volunteers are a vital part of life at College Park. If there isn’t a staff role available, we would still love for you to get involved. There are many opportunities to serve, from hospitality and worship to outreach and community events.
Who do I contact with questions?
If you have questions about a specific position or the hiring process, please contact our church office at office@cpumc.org or 407-843-7197. We’re happy to help connect you with the right person.
